
PORTLAND, Oregon – (December 8, 2009) – Reserve your seat at one of the intimate winemaker dinners and support five area charities as part of the Classic Wines Auction’s wine events leading up to the 26th anniversary gala auction in March 2010. Mix and mingle with some of the most respected winemakers from Oregon, Washington and California, as well as Portland’s finest chefs at the 2010 Classic Wines Auction Winemaker Dinner series.
This year the annual event features 28 Portland and SW Washington restaurants and 51 wineries. Each participating restaurant will prepare a multi-course meal paired with wines from one or two different wineries with all proceeds supporting charities benefiting families and children in Oregon and Southwest Washington. The dinners begin at 6:30 p.m. on the evenings of March 2-4, 2010. Reservations are now being accepted online at www.classicwinesauction.com. Each dinner offers a varied number of seats depending on the venue and tickets are $150 per person (tax deductible portion is $65), including dinner, wine and gratuity. Helping Children and Families
The Classic Wines Auction Board has selected five local charities to benefit from the 2010 auction and expanded series of events: Friends of the Children – Portland, Metropolitan Family Service, New Avenues for Youth, Trillium Family Services and YWCA Clark County. “Watching our community raise funds for programs that will impact more than 42,000 children and families is amazing,” said executive director Heather Martin. Classic Wines Auction, Inc. has raised more than $21.6 million since its inception in 1982.
